According to sources, the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a one-year contract with right-handed pitcher Noah Synderth.
Syndergaard is expected to join a Dodgers rotation that also includes all-stars.
The Los Angeles Angels signed left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson to a three-year, $39 million contract, while the Texas Rangers signed Andrew Heaney to a two-year, $25 million deal.
After signing a one-year, $21 million deal with the Angels, he started 15 games before a trade-deadline deal sent him to thePhillies. His highest figure since the beginning of the year was 13423 of work.
Syndergaard's hope is to return to his prime self, even though it was seen as a successful return from his Tommy John surgery. He was one of the best pitchers in baseball at his peak. He made the All-Star team the next season after starting a World Series game for the Mets.
Arm injuries slowed his progress and caused him to lose the 100 mph-plus speed that was his hallmark. In his final season with the Mets, Syndergaard had a career-worst 4.28 earned run average.
His return with the Angels featured a pitch that was close to 94 mph, compared to the 98 he had thrown with the Mets. He was excellent at preventing home runs, and his walk rate helped offset the dip in his strikeout rate.
The Dodgers think they can get more out of Synder Noah.
Anderson excelled with the Dodgers last season, with a 2.57 earned run average in 17823innings, and Heaney was among the league leaders with a 13.6 strikeout rate.
Syndergaard has spent time at multiple pitching facilities this winter working with trainers to better understand his arsenal and help rebuild lost velocity.
