It's Christmastime in Nashville and we're happy. There are new Tennessee Christmas attractions for our family to explore after we moved from California. We will not be able to hit them all, but we will make a list and check it twice each year.

I will add your favorite Tennessee Christmas attractions to this list if you share them in the comments. We want to add more holiday activities for our family.

Best Tennessee Christmas Attractions

These are the best Tennessee Christmas attractions I have learned about while traveling, talking with friends, and reading the paper. I still read the paper.

Many of these attractions are located in the Nashville area. There are a few places in Kentucky, North Carolina, and Alabama that hold a special place in my heart.

Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville

There is more to the Gaylord Opryland than just a hotel. It has many holiday traditions that bring people from far away. There are more than 17 hours of events to enjoy. Booking a room at the hotel will allow you to enjoy the experience and not be rushed.

Before you go to the attractions, check out the lights, grab some food, and take a boat ride at the hotel. The hotel is so large that there is a river in it. SoundWaves is an indoor water park that you can visit.

The Gaylord Opryland is located in Tennessee.

ICE! Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

There is a new theme every year. The theme for this year is based on a TV show. Travelers may decide to visit all five locations if they like the different ICE! themes.

You can zoom down epic slides, marvel at larger-than-life displays, and come face-to-face with incredible hand-carved ice sculptures at ICE! It can take up to 40 minutes to walk through the building.

You have to purchase tickets in advance with a hotel package. Adult tickets range from $30 to $36, while children range from $23 to $26 each. The kids are free.

You can save over 30% by using our link. If you bundle ICE! with other attractions, you can save up to 30%. You can save on tickets by using coupons in local mailers or on the radio station website.

Dancing Lights of Christmas in Lebanon

The family and I had a chance to go to the Dancing Lights of Christmas in Lebanon after I bought a coupon for a discount.

There are over 2 million Christmas lights synchronized to music along a 2.5 mile driving path. You can hear the songs on the radio by tuning in.

The Dancing Lights of Christmas is open all year long. It closes at 10 pm on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. If you want to avoid the big weekend crowds, I would recommend going on a Sunday night or during the week.

You pay by the number of cars you own. Cash or credit can be used to pay for your trip. Look for coupons in local mailers. I found coupons that saved money.

The prices for different types of vehicles vary. When you arrive, you can pay for your tickets online or in person.

  • $30 for a family vehicle
  • $30 for a non-profit van or bus
  • $50-$75 for limousines
  • $150 for large commercial vehicles, motor homes, buses

The Dancing Lights of Christmas can be seen at the Agricultural Center. There is a business located at 955 E Baddour Pkwy. During the Christmas season, the Dancing Lights of Christmas are open.

Cheekwood Holiday LIGHTS

There are a lot of seasonal events at the Cheekwood Estate. There are two of my favorites. There are over a mile of Christmas lights in the estate.

There is a holiday marketplace and interactive displays.

Holiday lights is one of Nashville's favorite Christmas traditions because it combines holiday festivities with amazing gardens. There are over 1 million lights that flow through the gardens of the estate. Even the trains. The exhibit is illuminated for the holidays.

During the day, the estate is open for traditional visitors, but it closes at 4:30 pm so that visitors can enjoy the holiday lights. Guests are given enough time to enjoy without being stuck in a crowd. The holiday lights are open seven days a week.

The tickets for the garden are $26 for adults and seniors, $20 for children 3 to 17 and free for kids two and under. You can get an extra $2 for going inside the mansion. Members receive a discount based on their membership level, and there is a service fee for all tickets.

Chihuly at Cheekwood is an amazing date night idea.

Chad’s Winter Wonderland in Lebanon

The attraction has been run by a man. When Chad was a child, his aunt told him to turn his love of Christmas lights into displays. Thousands of cars drive through his display every year.

You can see over 3 million Christmas lights at Chad's Winter Wonderland. There are animals and a nativity scene. A special mailbox can be used to deliver your letter to santa.

From Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve, Chad's WinterWonderland is open every night. They might close if the weather gets too bad.

The cost is $20 per car and $30 for limos. You can stop by the ATM if you want, it is cash only. You must stay in your car. There is a store called Chad's Winter Wonderland in Lebanon.

Enchant at First Horizon Park in Nashville

The home of the Nashville Sounds is the Enchant Nashville location. There are many interactive exhibits in the park during the holiday season. There is a Christmas light maze with tunnels and a 100 foot Christmas tree. Specialty crafts, boutiques, and artisan vendors can be found in the village.

The ticket prices start at $32 for adults and $20 for children. If you want to save money, you should buy Night Owl tickets. For an additional fee of $18 for adults and$15 for children, guests can ice skate on the baseball field. A special line for the maze, Santa, and ice skating is included in the price of aVIP pass.

The Enchant Nashville is open on Saturdays and Sundays. It stays open until 11:30 pm on a few days.

Zoolumination: Chinese Lantern Festival of Lights at Nashville Zoo

The Nashville Zoo hosted Zoolumination, the largest lantern show in the country which spanned more than 60 acres and featured more than 1,000 custom-made lanterns. There are nightly performances by Chinese acrobats and specialty food options for visitors to enjoy.

You can meet St. Nick and the elves at the North Pole Village. You can see how animals behave at night during your visit to the zoo.

During the winter months, zoolumination is open from November to February. It is open from dusk to dawn. You can get tickets through January 8th. It is open from Thursday through Sunday in January and February.

Food and drinks can be found all night.

Adults and teens pay $19 for single-night admission. Platinum Pass tickets give unlimited access to the event. Adult and teen Platinum Pass tickets are $29 and $21, respectively. I think it's worth it for the small extra cost to get the Platinum Pass and be able to enjoy the lights multiple times.

Enchanted Garden of Lights at Rock City in Chattanooga

While interviewing my friend Nick True, I learned about Rock City. During the holiday season, Rock City becomes something out of your dreams. This annual experience is considered to be one of the best Tennessee Christmas attractions.

During the week, the garden is open from 4:30 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. You cannot purchase tickets when you arrive because they are only available online.

The prices range from $20 on value nights to $26 on special nights. The peak nights are for adults. There are children ages 3 to 12. The kids are free. You can't enter before your scheduled time.

Pass holders can attend any night they want. If you show up and show your pass, the greeter will accept it. Every night of the week, the passholders receive free admission. Pass holders get 50% off on Fridays and Saturdays.

Pigeon Forge Winterfest

The winter season in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville runs from November 2020 to February 23,23. Winter Fest Parades, winter lights, and trolley tours are included in the regular attractions in Eastern Tennessee.

Many of the normal shows are turned into holiday-themed performances during Winter Fest. The Dollywood Christmas has been voted America's Best Christmas event for over a decade. There are more than six million lights, a firework show, and a Christmas tree.

The Winter Fest Driving Tour of lights is a great way to have fun in your car. It features more than five million lights.

You can take the 75-minute round-trip train ride. Santa boards the train to greet each child and presents them with a gift just like in the story. The carols are sung back to the depot.

There are mountain coasters, lumberjack Feuds and indoor snowtubing in Pigeon Forge.

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland

We went to the garden of lights at rock city last year and stumbled upon a Christmas display. The kids had to use the restroom at McD's, and there was a lot of lights up on the hill above the restaurant. It is at the home of the Tennessee Smokies of the Southern League.

There are a lot of lights dancing to the music. This holiday tradition is brought to life using the most technologically advanced equipment. Your admission will help build up the local community. There are 7 Shadrack locations on the East Coast.

The stadium is open from 6 pm to 10 pm every night. Santa's Village is only open for a short time. After Christmas, admission is $30 for cars or vans with 8 passengers or less. The price is from December 16th to Christmas day. Mini-buses are $60. Each school bus costs $150. When you arrive, you can purchase tickets online. Credit cards can be used at the site.

After 13 years, this is the last year of the Christmas display at the stadium. They can focus on their new Super Sized Christmas Adventure at Soaky Mountain when the stadium is shut down.

On value days and leading up to Christmas, tickets for the new Super Sized Adventure are $48. Save $10 on value days by using the promo code "JOY".

Speedway in Lights at Bristol Motor Speedway

The most dazzling holiday light show in the region is thePinnacle Speedway in lights. There are over three million Christmas lights and scenes to see. You can take a lap around the world's fastest half-mile. The infield has a Christmas Village.

This is a great Tennessee Christmas attraction. It is in the northeastern part of Tennessee. During the month of November and January, the speedway in lights is open. It is open from dusk to dawn.

The prices for tickets are based on the days of the week. It is $25 for a vehicle with eight people on Friday and Saturday. Vans are $50 and buses are $125. Fast lane tickets are available on a limited basis for $50 for a car and $75 for a van.

Lights Over Gatlinburg

The longest suspension bridge in America is located at the Skylift Park. The bridge has a tunnel of Christmas lights that illuminate the sky. There are over 40,000 lights in the park.

During the winter months, Lights Over Gatlinburg is open from November to January. The admission is included with your ticket. Every day, the park is open from 9 am to 9 pm If you buy the "Unlimited Access Ticket" or online SkyPass, you can visit the park during the day and return at night to see the Christmas lights.

Online or in person tickets can be purchased. The cost for adults is $33 and the cost for juniors is $19. Kids under the age of three are free. You can get online SkyPass and unlimited visit tickets for $2 more. Military and local residents can get a discount on in-person tickets.

Christmas in the City – Knoxville

There are lots of holiday fun for the whole family in Tennessee. The twinkling lights in Market Square can be seen or you can take a stroll on the Peppermint Trail. You can pick up a North Pole Pass from the Visitors Center. There is a competition to see who has the best holiday light display.

Christmas in the Park – Cookeville

The city of Cookville has a 40-foot Christmas tree that will be lit on December 4, 2022. Christmas Movies in the Park is one of the things visitors will find in the park. There is an exhibit at the history museum.

There are several Christmas parades in Putnam County in December. On December 3rd and 4th, there are costume contests, local vendors, food trucks, a visit from Santa, and more at the Grinch Festival. If you missed any of the events, you can still drive through the lights in the middle of the year.

The Nutcracker Ballet in Nashville

The Nashville Ballet presents a holiday tradition. Live music from the Nashville symphony can be heard at Jackson Hall from December 9th through 24th. The ballet performs on weekends at 1 pm. There are additional times before Christmas.

The ballet program is available for download. There are different ticket prices for different days and seat locations. It was the most expensive ticket I found.

Let It Glow Holiday Light Show – Union City

There are more than one million Christmas lights in Union City. There is a holiday light show at Discovery Park of America. It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They are closed on major holidays.

The Japanese Garden, European Garden, and Mill Ridge are located on the north side of the park and can be seen from the drive-through. There is a large display of more than 150 nutcrackers from a local collector at Mill Ridge.

You can purchase tickets online or at the gate. Free admission is given to members of the walk-Thru. $10 is the drive-through price. At the gate, you can buy tickets.

Christmas at Graceland

For the fourth year in a row, Graceland is the best historic holiday home tour in the country. Christmas at Graceland is a celebration of Elvis Presley's love of the holiday season.

There are hundreds of blue Christmas lights in the driveway of the home. There is a life-size nativity scene and more. There are Christmas trees and artifacts on display in the mansion.

The place will be decorated from November to January. The holiday hours will feature live tour guides sharing holiday stories from the Presley family.

There are afternoon tours from 2 pm to 4 pm every day. Children under the age of four are free. The tours cost $259 per person through December 23.

A two-night stay, an afternoon tour for two adults, and a 3-disc set of limited-edition collectible Graceland Christmas CDs are included in the package.

Christmas in Collierville

The holiday spirit is reflected in the decorations in the town. There are horse-drawn carriage rides around the town square during the Christmas season. Visitors can take pictures along the holiday photo stroll.

Christmas in Collierville takes place during the month of December. A carriage ride can hold up to six people. On certain nights, they are available from 5 pm to 8 pm.

The holiday light tour runs from December 8 to 23, 2022, and features 60 locations. The self-guided tour will show you festive lights and decorations. To see a map of all the places, click here.

Franktown Festival of Lights

The longest drive through holiday lights spectacular in the county is the Franktown Festival of Lights. There are over 200 displays that are synchronized to Christmas classics that guests can enjoy.

During the Christmas season, this attraction is open from November to December. There are three levels of tickets: $30 per vehicle, $50 for 8+ larger vehicles, and $100 for commercial vehicles. The Jingle Bell Pass is good for four small passenger vehicles and you can use it on any night. FrankTown Openhearts is a non-profit organization committed to Franklin's inner-city youth.

You can participate in the holiday fun at the agricultural center.

Honorable Mention: The Biltmore Estate

You can visit the estate at any time of the year. The grounds are so large that you have to drive from one building to another. The driveway is three miles in length.

Many of the buildings on the 8,000-acre estate are adorned with lights during the holiday season. I expected the manor to be decorated more, but I don't think it would be possible to add lights to the building.

We saw Santa during our visit. The kids talked to him for a long time without being rushed because it wasn't crowded.

Honorable Mention: The Reinder Farm

The Reindeer Farm is located just over the Kentucky border in Bowling Green. You can learn about Santa's reindeer at The Reinder Farm. Visit the petting zoo and buy a souvenir at the gift shop. You can meet Santa and Mrs. Clause on certain Santa days.

There is a food truck on-site every day. Adults can sample and purchase wine on Fridays and Saturdays.

Kids under the age of 2 are free. During the month of November and December, they are open from 9 am to 5 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. They are open from December 19 to December 23.

Santa's Lookout holiday train ride is one of the many Christmas attractions to visit. Some of the year-round attractions are fun for the entire family.

Honorable Mention: Galaxy of Lights at Huntsville Botanical Gardens

The galaxy of lights at the botanical gardens has been a local favorite for over 25 years. It is one of the largest holiday events in the South with over 2.5 miles of magnificent light displays.

About 2 hours south of Nashville, Tennessee is the location of theGalaxy of lights. During the month of November and December, it has walking nights. If you want to get in on the holiday fun, there are dog walking nights. The walking night hours are from dusk to dawn.

There are driving nights from December 1st to 16th. Online tickets are cheaper than at the gate. Members also get a discount. The peak driving dates are $35 at the gate. Walking tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.

As our family celebrates Christmas, we enjoy seeing all of the decorations. It can be difficult to see all of the best Tennessee Christmas attractions each year. We are excited to see these attractions running at full capacity this year after they were limited or closed in the past.
