Fans of the movie are in for a treat. The live-action series on Prime Video will be based on the popular Sony game. The film will be available on Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories.

Kratos, the God of War, is going to be the focus of the show. Kratos grieves the death of his wife and sets out on a dangerous journey with his son to spread her ashes from the highest peak. Kratos is forced to fight new Gods and monsters as his bond with his son is tested.

Amazon's new God of War series will be a huge hit. The announcement coincides with the release of the sequel to the video game, " God of War: Ragnark". The fastest-selling first-party launch game in Sony's history was God of War: Ragnark. In the first week, the game sold over five million copies.

"The God of War is a compelling, character-driven franchise that we believe will appeal to our global customers as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as its rich stories," said Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios in a statement.

The Last of Us, Paramount+'s "Halo", Arcane, and "Resident Evil" are just a few of the video game series that have been adapted for television.
