The victory gave Australia a 2-1 lead in the five-game series after India drew level with a super-over victory in the second T20.

After losing the toss and being put into bat, India's bowlers got off to a good start with the captain and all-rounder falling in the same over.

The star all-rounder led the counter- attack with nine fours and three sixes.

When Perry departed in the 17th over, Australia's advantage was firmly in their favor.

The loss of opening partner Mandhana did not deter her, as she smashed three sixes in her half-century.

India needed 60 runs to win but Australia's bowlers applied the pressure after Verma's dismissal.

The lower order couldn't keep up with the run-rate as Deepti was not out.

The series continues on Saturday at the same time.
