The account that uses publicly available data to track the location of Musk's private jet has been permanently suspended from the social media platform.

Musk said on November 6 that his commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following his plane. Musk seemed to change his mind over the last month.

Jack Sweeney, a student at the University of Central Florida, is the creator of a bot that tracks private jet activity. The account that tracks Kimbal Musk's travel has not been affected.

Musk has been unhappy with the account for a long time. In January, Musk offered the student $5,000 to get rid of his account, but he turned it down.

Can you give me a chance to increase that to $50k? It would allow me to get a car, even a Model 3, and it would be great support in college.

Musk wouldn't pay Sweeney's tuition.

On Sunday I emailed Ella Irwin, Twitter's "Product & Trust leader," to ask if this purported leaked screenshot was real. She hasn't responded. Given that @elonjet has now been permanently suspended, I guess we can assume it was. https://t.co/AjR1IpSHSn

The person says that ElonJet has been under close scrutiny. On December 2, he posted on his personal account that his account was not visible to the public. The Trust and Safety VP is said to have asked the team to apply high visibility filters to ElonJet. The email was sent for confirmation of the message's validity.

Sweeney set up an account on Mastodon after being suspended from the social networking site.
