The account that tracked the movements of Musk's plane has been suspended. Musk said in November that he wouldn't ban the account because it was a personal safety risk.

It's not clear what happened in the month after that. There are no pictures of the account doing anything out of the ordinary in the last few days. Yesterday, the account posted a picture of Musk's jet landing in Los Angeles.

Jack Sweeney, the account's creator, claimed last week that the jet tracker was being quietly restricted by the social networking site. According to Sweeney, a message was sent from the company's trust and safety leader, asking her team to "apply heavy VF" to the account immediately. The restrictions made it hard to find suggestions for a period of time before being reversed, according to Sweeney.

When contacted earlier this week, Irwin declined to comment on the authenticity of the screen shot.

According to Sweeney, ElonJet seems to have been suspended. He told The Verge that he hasn't received any communication from the social networking site. He said he might have been suspended because of his news over the weekend.

Sweeney previously told The New York Times that Musk had offered to pay to have the account taken down.

The suspension seems to be in contrast to Musk's ideals. He has harped on the importance of allowing free speech on the platform for months. There is no clarity on why Elonjet was suspended.

Alex Heath gave additional reports.

There was an additional comment from Sweeney.
