The account dedicated to tracking the location of Musk's private plane has been suspended.

Jack Sweeney, a college student from Florida, ran the account that had more than 500,000 followers. It was able to track Musk's plane's location using publicly available flight data.

It looks like ElonJet is suspended. Users were encouraged to follow him.

The young man told CNBC that he started the account because he was a fan of Musk.

Sweeney's dream car is definitely aTesla.

Musk has been vocal about protecting free speech on the site after acquiring it. In early November, Musk said he wouldn't ban the plane tracking account because it was a personal safety risk.

The instructions may have been different inside. The reach of Sweeney's account was intentionally limited after he claimed his account had been shadow banned.

He said an employee sent him a picture of the vice president of the Trust and Safety council asking to place heavy visibility filters on Elon Jet. The trust and safety council is no longer in existence.

On December 12th, Sweeney said that the account was no longer hidden or banned.

Sweeney was surprised that his account was suspended because Musk said he wouldn't do it. He said that Musk offered to pay him $5,000 to take the account down because it was a risk.

Sweeney said that the final message from him was "It doesn't feel right to take this down."

Private flights of other public figures like Bill Gates and Donald Trump are tracked by Sweeney. The account devoted to tracking Musk is still active.

Requests for comment were not responded to by Musk.
