A new mode is being tested by TikTok. Some TikTok users are seeing a new full-screen button on their videos. The TikTok video can be shifted into a horizontal full-screen mode using the button on the website.
The full-screen button has been noticed by several users in recent weeks. The social video network is closer to the video sharing site. TikTok focuses on portrait video, with creators having to create separate videos for both TikTok and YouTube to take advantage of the different platform's strengths.
We might see more longer-form videos on TikTok if this full-screen mode means that creators can create a single video that is compatible with both TikTok and YouTube. The maximum video length was increased to 10 minutes earlier this year.
While TikTok is increasingly offering more than just short videos, competitors likeInstagram andYouTube have both launched shot-form videos in the form of Reels and shorts. Short-form video content can be found in the Spotlight tab in theSnapchat app.
TikTok has been testing a horizontal full-screen mode for a long time. TikTok Shop has already launched in the US and Indonesia and will allow users to purchase products without leaving the app.
