Celebrities that promoted Bored Ape NFTs are now facing a class action lawsuit

The United States Central District Court of California, Western Division is where the class action complaint was filed. The company is known for its Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection. A long list of celebrities are blamed for exaggerating the value of Yuga Labs intangible goods.

According to a report by Deadline, some of the defendants cited in the class action include Madonna, Kevin Hart, and ParisHilton.

Some of the specific charges include violations of unfair competition laws, aiding and abetting, and civil conspiracy, among others.

Yuga Labs used a service called MoonPay to compensate people who promoted the NFT collection.

According to the complaint, MoonPay was used as an avenue to compensate celebrity endorsements of Yuga Labs NFTs without telling investors The complaint states that Guy Oseary, a connected Hollywood talent agent, was behind MoonPay.

Anyone who suffered financial losses due to Yuga's NFTs or Yuga's coin should be compensated by a jury trial.
