The Three Lions didn't win the World Cup, but a new member of the squad will return with them.

Just in time for the January transfer window, Dave the Cat will be moving to England.

The player's unofficial mascot is the purring predator.

If they won the trophy, they would bring Dave back, but they decided to re home him anyway.

John Stones and Kyle Walker of Manchester City are Dave's biggest fans.

The first day we were there. According to Stones, Dave pops out.

He waits for his food every night.

Walker told the FA's official media channel that he and Stonesy had been adopted by him.

Walker says Dave was welcomed but not everyone agreed.

I love the cat and some people don't.

When Dave arrives, some people are said to jump in the air.

John Stones said he came up with the name because it was a good one.

He called him "Big Dave" after the four-legged dinner guest began to get greedy.

There are a lot of stray cats around restaurants and hotels in the country.

Walker said that Dave got into a little scrap with another cat.

The food and territory are being fought over. He's doing a good job.

A group of famous animals have carved a special place in the hearts of the English public.

One of them is excited about his upcoming arrival.

After the squad left, Dave left Al Wakrah and headed to a local vet.

He will have a blood test and get vaccinations before moving to his new home.

Dave the cat is not going to miss football.
