A BeReal clone called Candid Stories is one of the new features that will be announced by the company.

Much of what has made BeReal popular can be found in candid stories. You will be able to share an image that includes a snapshot from both your front and back cameras, as well as taking a candid from a daily notification reminder. You can take pictures from the Stories camera or a multi-author story.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the feature will be tested in South Africa on Tuesday. Thanks to the dual feature, you can take a photo with the front and back cameras at the same time.

The new Notes aren't the same as the one you're hoping for. Notes top out at 60 characters of text and emoji, which is more than the 140 character limit on the micro-messaging service. They won't show up in the feed. You can only share them with a limited group of people and they don't show up in their inbox.

Notes look like old school AIM statuses to me. It's not a bad thing. Statuses are enjoyable. Hopefully the short length will stop Notes that are vaguely pointed. There are new notes coming out.

The groups seem to work as expected. Anything shared to the "profile" will stay in that profile. According to the WSJ, they are in testing in Canada, Chile, and Taiwan. If you want to save posts to groups or one-on-one conversations, you can use a feature calledCollaborative Collections, which is currently being tested.
