The news of Kirstie Alley's death was mourned by her ex- husband.

The actor, best known for her roles in the sitcom "Cheers" and the film franchise "Look Who's Talking," died of cancer on Monday.

Shortly after the news was announced, the actor shared a photo of himself and the actress at the premiere of "Shoot to Kill."

"I am so grateful for our years together and for the two incredibly beautiful children and now grandchildren that we have," Stevenson wrote in a letter to Kirstie.

The children of Alley's partner, Stevenson's, said in a statement that she was a "fierce and loving mother."

It was only recently discovered that Alley had cancer.

The post said that she was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. She was also an amazing mother and grandmother.

The siblings thanked the doctors and nurses at the Moffitt Cancer Center for their care, as well as Alley'szest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren, and her many animals.

Their marriage took place between 1983 and 1997. It was Stevenson's first marriage, but Alley's second as she was previously married from 1970 to 1977 to her high school sweetheart.

According to the late actor's 2012 memoir, "The Art of Men (I Prefer Mine Al Dente)," Alley and Stevenson welcomed True in 1992 and Lillie in 1995 after a devastating miscarriage.

According to us weekly, Alley has three children. After True welcomed his first child, she and Stevenson became grandparents for the first time.

Representatives for Alley did not reply immediately.
