Actor Kirstie Alley Has Died At 71 After Being Treated For Cancer

Kirstie Alley passed away after being diagnosed with cancer.

The Cheers actor's children wrote on her official Facebook page that their mother had been treated privately. The death of her was confirmed by herrepresentative.

We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered," her children wrote. She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living. She was more than just an actress, she was also a mother and grandmother.

The doctors and nurses at the cancer center in Florida were thanked by the family. Privacy was also requested by them.

Their mother's passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and left us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did.

She won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her role as Rebecca on Cheers, as well as appearing on reality TV like Dancing With The Stars and Celebrity Big Brother.
