A Los Angeles Lakers championship ring from the 1999-2000 season is on the auction block.
The ring was given to Hugh Hefner. The late Jerry Buss was a friend of Hefner.
After the Lakers defeated the Pacers in six games, the players were given a 14-karat gold ring with brilliant cut diamonds. The ring is for sale through the auction house.
The Lakers' regular season record and playoffs record are engraved on the side of the ring with Hefner's name. A letter of authenticity from the Hefner family will come with the ring as part of the auction.
The Lakers won over the Pacers in 2000 to start their run of back-to-back-to-back titles. The last team to three-peat in the NBA was the Los Angeles squad led by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O' Neal.
