The man who shot Lady Gaga's dog walker and stole her French bulldogs was sentenced to 21 years in prison on Monday.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, James Howard Jackson pleaded no contest to an attempted murder charge. Howard was represented by a lawyer on Monday.
The dog walker for the pop star was seriously wounded in the attack and addressed the court on Monday.
It's hard to believe that it's been nearly two years since I took Asia, Koji and Gustav out for an evening stroll and suddenly found myself fighting with everything I had to protect them from being stolen. It wasn't enough, I was beaten, shot, and left to die on a sidewalk, and I was gasping for air. The two guys were gone.
Prosecutors said that Jackson and two others were looking for French bulldogs. The pop star had three animals.
Two of the dogs that were taken during the robbery were shot by Jackson. A dog walker is heard screaming on the doorbell camera. I've been shot and I need help.
The violence was described in social media posts as a close call. He said in his statement that he's still healing from the shooting. Part of his lung had to be removed.
He forgives Jackson and the others involved in the attack. I can't move forward with my life until I say those words to you.
Several days later, the dogs were returned to their owner by another person.
A $500,000 reward was offered by the pop star in order to get the dogs back.
The allegations of great bodily injury and a prior strike have been admitted by Jackson. The prosecutor's office didn't say what the previous strike was.
The office said that the plea agreement held Mr. Jackson accountable for perpetrating a coldhearted violent act. Howard was accused of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a robbery and assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
Jackson was mistakenly released from jail. He was captured almost five months after.
White pleaded no contest to a gun charge. White is going to be sentenced next year. The case is still going on.
The couple tried to help Jaylin White avoid arrest after he was shot.
White and Whaley were found guilty of robbery.
Jackson and the younger White were driven by Whaley as they searched for expensive dogs. Prosecutors previously said that Jackson and White jumped out and attacked the person. They hit and choked the dog walker, and Jackson pulled out a semiautomatic gun and fired, hitting the dog walker in the head.
Requests for comment from Lady Gaga's representatives were not responded to.
