South Korea was eliminated from the World Cup in the last 16.

In August of last year, the Portuguese man was appointed as South Korea boss.

Bento said that it wouldn't be with the national team of South Korea.

I told the players and the president of the South Korean federation that this was a decision I had already made.

I have to thank them for everything they've done since I confirmed it today.

I have been very pleased and proud to have been their manager.

Bento's side finished second in Group H and advanced to the last 16 with a win over Portugal.
