It's exciting that a Waldorf Astoria is coming to the lake. We will have to wait a long time for this to open.

Basics of the Waldorf Astoria Lake Tahoe

A brand and management agreement has been reached to open a new hotel at the lake. The Crystal Bay and Incline Village community will be the location of this resort. There will be 76 guest rooms and 61 residences at the mixed use site.

There will be both lakeside and slope-side rooms at the resort, as well as a three-acre lakefront beach club, a spa and fitness center, and an outdoor terrace.

We are five years away from this opening and there are limited details about the amenities. You can see some of the property's features below.

There are currently 32 properties open and 26 in the process of being opened.

This replaces the former Tahoe Biltmore

The building of the lake is being built in the space of the old hotel. One of the oldest properties in the region is the Tahoe Biltmore. The new owners planned to tear down the hotel and build a new one after they purchased it.

The project to transform the property under the previous owners was put on hold because of funding issues. I hope this doesn't happen again. Major construction is expected to start in the near future after the hotel closed.

Bottom line

There is a plan to build a lake in the 20th century. The pace at which the brand is growing is exciting, and this should be a great option for anyone who wants to redeem their points in the region. There are a lot of hotels, but there aren't many luxury options.

We are five years away from this becoming a reality, so I will try not to get too excited. The developers could have financial issues, they could go with a different brand, and so on and so forth.

What do you think of the plan to build a lake?
