On Monday, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case that is being framed as being about free speech but is actually a threat to civil rights. Justice Samuel Alito decided to make a joke about the Ku Klux Klan.

A Colorado website designer is challenging the state's anti- discrimination law on the grounds that it violates her free speech rights. The designer said she can't sell wedding websites because she doesn't want to serve gay couples. The case could affect the rights of the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual community, as well as opening the door for more legalized discrimination based on race, religion, or disability.
