England celebrating the decisive wicket against Pakistan
Jack Leach trapped Naseem Shah lbw to leave Pakistan 268 all out and seal England's win

It's true, admit it. Did you have doubts?

They may have come when England were 141 all out in the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's, or when they lost to South Africa on the same ground.

Maybe you thought they couldn't do it overseas, or that Ben Stokes had bitten off more than he can chew when he declared on the fourth day of the first Test against Pakistan.

It does not matter if you wobble. It makes believers of us all.

It goes straight into the conversation for England's greatest Test win of all time, as a result of the style in which they are playing and the way in which they are led by Ben.

Take a moment and remember that the 74-run win was sealed in near darkness on the final evening.

Stuart Broad, Mark Wood and Ben Foakes were not with England.

They've never won a Test against Pakistan outside of the UK.

In the time since England last won away, the teams that won the Ashes have come back empty-handed, while the ones that were ranked number one in the world were hammered.

They had never played a Test in Pakistan. Ben Duckett was playing his first Test in six years and Harry brook was playing his first Test.

He was a stand-in keeper. Will Jacks and Liam Livingstone are part-time spinners.

If the Test had started a day later, England would not have been able to field a team.

It was not safe to spend five minutes outside of the bathroom.

The way England played was interesting.

Two days before the Test started, James Anderson saw the surface, 22 yards of pancake batter masquerading as a cricket pitch, and said England would have to be creative in order to win.

Even if Anderson had known the level of creativity required, he wouldn't have come up with any ideas.

Bowlers go through a lot more plans than Liz. Five, six, or even seven catchers were designed to get a batter to make a mistake.

The declaration, a chips-in, balls-out gamble, was the masterpiece. It was a success.

It was one of the greatest exhibitions of Test captaincy he had ever seen, according to a former England captain.

It was talked about in Australia.

Mark Waugh said that the way Test cricket is played is changing. They won on the most docile surface in Rawalpindi.

I don't think any other team would have done that.

This is one of the best moments in an England shirt for Ben.

The man who has produced match-winning performances in two World Cup finals is an Englishman.

It's possible that his most important contribution to the game is what he's doing for the England team.

The longer form is under threat from white ball cricket. Everyone is affected if it is dying in one place. It's not good to have a small pool of competitors.

Test cricket is trying to be as exciting as the shorter formats. People don't want to watch a Test go into day five.

Test cricket needs to be taken care of. Everybody wants to play at the highest level. If we can change the way other teams play the game, Test cricket will get better.

It shouldn't fall off the planet. It has to remain around. We're going to do everything we can to keep it going.

If nobody wants to watch, what is the point?

Even if they had lost, England's performance in Rawalpindi would have been compelling.

Some England cricketers are better than others but there are others who are more important.

One of the most significant captains we've had is the one called by Mike Atherton.

Where are England going?

Two Tests will be held in Pakistan. It doesn't make sense to wonder if the tourists will sit on their lead. They will travel through the two cities.

The record for the fastest hundred by an England batter in Test cricket was held by Gilbert Jessop for 67 years before he died.

The man nicknamed 'Croucher' will soon be able to rest easy.

The record for the fastest Test hundred is held by a certain person. He'd be happy to give it to one of his charges.

It is certain that there will be humps along the way for England in the near future.

They can't keep playing this way and have setbacks. They are willing to accept this fate.

Remember when they only had one win in 17 and it was all over the place?

Don't let the faith go to waste. The Trent Bridge tear could be used to beat New Zealand or the brilliance of Bairstow and Root could be used to beat India. The raid of Rawalpindi should be added to the list.

We all need to be believers.
