AP College Basketball Poll 2022: Complete Week 5 Men's Rankings Released

Houston remained the top team in the men's college basketball Associated Press poll despite being upset around the country.

Non-conference battles gave other teams a chance to prove themselves after the Top 10 teams suffered losses.

Week 5 of the 2022-23 season is just around the corner.

North Carolina fell out of the top spot in the AP poll. The Tar Heels have lost four games in a row, two of them on the road. The performances have been disappointing for a team with high expectations despite the absence of Bacot.

North Carolina brought back 4 starters from a team that went to the national title game. The Tar Heels were the preseason No. 1. UNC just lost 4th straight game and is now 5-4 overall. Tar Heels don’t have an NCAA tourney resume at this point.

Best win? Portland on road.

After topping the poll, UNC is no longer ranked.

The Hoosiers lost to Rutgers in their next game after beating North Carolina.

As conference play gets started, there is a lot of uncertainty, although Virginia and Purdue are still perfect.

Maryland is now 13th in the country after dropping to 1-8 on the season.

Houston's toughest test of the season so far is against Alabama. In New York, Texas will play Illinois, while Arizona and Indiana will play each other.
