Laura wanted a Spanish bungalow that was close to the beach so she started house hunting.

The jewelry designer lived in Venice Beach with her husband and son.

In Venice Beach, we were not able to afford anything. The closest home to the beach from Los Angeles was a Spanish house.

I was very specific about what I wanted to say. I wanted archways, arched windows, and Spanish charm.

Their search lead them to Long Beach, where they found a Spanish-style house.

There was a detached two-car garage on the South Wrigley property.

The couple knew that they had found the one, and that it had great bones.

They bought the home in October of last year.

The couple moved into the bungalow after receiving the keys. The first thing they did was rip out the carpets.

The house had all the features the couple wanted, but the interior design was different.

We were pretty sure we had salvaged wood floors after seeing the arched windows and arched doorways. Someone did some upgrades that weren't our favorites.

The plumbing and electrical systems needed to be upgraded.

She said the laundry washer and dryer were put in the house because of the plumbing problems.

Genevieve was given the chance to work on interior design for the first time because of the state of the old house.

"I've been in the fashion industry my entire career." I didn't feel like I had an outlet until we owned our first home.

She sells handmade jewelry like a sterling silver ring with a turquoise gem and a silver chain link necklace at her store. Her designs are engraved with 14 Karat gold and can go for thousands of dollars.

Her husband is the co-owner of a pizza chain named after their son.

In true LA style, she built a lifestyle brand and a 44,000-strong social media following.

When we bought our house, we didn't have any money left over to do any projects.

She'd built a following for her jewelry line on social-media, and it currently has over twenty thousand followers. The same thing happened for the house.

I could afford to do the projects that I wanted to do in my house if I became the influencer.

The account for the house is full of sandy, natural colors and closely resembles the look of her jewelry brand's account, except instead of close-up shots of rings and necklaces, it features renovation progress photos and shots of her lounging around her

A few posts end up in the thousands. Her followers compliment her in the comment section with phrases like "love it!" and "beautiful!"

The couple focused on updating the look of the house.

She said that painting the inside of the house white, taking the carpet out, and refinishing the wood floors made the house look great.

She likes the windows in the living room the best. When you look out the window, you can see the huge, lush palms and it's just so beautiful.

They left the kitchen for the last time because they didn't know anything about renovations or designing homes.

"I didn't know what to do in the kitchen." We saved it for the end.

The table tops and shelves were created from cement. The work was done by hand.

He works with plastic put over the door while we eat dinner. She said that they felt like they were camping for three months in the kitchen.

Professionals were hired to polish the garage floors.

The couple juggled their day jobs and raising their son while working on the renovation.

During the Pandemic, she went back to school to study interior design.

The last part of the renovation took place from May to September and the couple finished the kitchen, outdoor pizza oven, and yard.

The Blanco Bungalow brand was put to work when it came to furnishings.

The account started to take off in the last eighteen months.

My account was too small, so brands weren't sure if they could work with me. She said there were a lot of nos.

There are ceramic dishes from Tablewear brand Year and Day and taupe-colored silk pajamas sent from sleepwear Lunya on her feed.

She's made her high-desert bohemian style easy to duplicate thanks to affiliate links on her website.

They get a commission from every sale that is made through their links.

"shop my bedroom," "shop my living room," and "shop my backyard" are some of the options on the site.

A section on the Blanco Bungalow website is dedicated to Genevieve's endeavors, where she writes about what it's like to go back to school at 38, give an inside look at a downsizing project, and offer interior design tips.

The couple sold their house for more than one million dollars less than two months after it was listed for sale.

The property was originally listed for more than $1 million but was later reduced to less than $1 million. The median listing home price in the area is $795,000.

A lot of people thought that we were planning on flipping the house, but we had no intention of ever selling this house and moving. We moved to Europe in January and fell in love with the place.

The couple is moving to Europe later this month, but they are not sure where they will go.

One thing she learned from her renovation journey was to take her time when making design decisions.

She tried to stick to one rule, which was to get a feel for the space before committing to any big changes.

She has learned to always go with the highest-quality piece that she knows she will love forever.

"For every decision I made for this house, it was always with the idea that we're going to live here for 30 years, so I better love this," she said.

While she was ready to part ways with the house, she's not giving up on the brand.

"I named it the house, but when we move to Europe, we're actually going to be documenting our house-hunting over there as well," she said.
