The nation's leader in passing yards, Michael Penix Jr., will return to the University of Washington in the fall of 2023.
"As I look back on this special season we had, I realized there were so many great moments and things to celebrate, but I know for sure there is more out there for this team and the job is still not," Penix said in the video. I'm looking forward to playing in Husky Stadium for the next season.

The 12th-ranked Washington will play Texas in the Valero Alamo Bowl on December 29th.
After playing for DeBoer at Indiana, Penix transferred to Washington and rejoined his coach after the 2020 season.
The additional season of eligibility granted in 2020 will allow him to play one last year for Washington.
Penix has suffered a number of injuries in his college career, and a jump to the NFL seemed likely after he passed for 4,354 yards with 29 touchdown and seven interception this fall.
He will return to a Washington team that finished in a three-way tie for second place in the conference. Penix needs 105 yards in the bowl game to break the school's single-season passing record.
