Phil Foden made a bold prediction about the future of Jude Bellingham after he set a new record.

Foden said that he is one of the most gifted players he has ever seen.

In his game, he has no weakness. He will be the best in the world.

It was high praise and echoed from all corners after England set up a World Cup quarter-final against France with an impressive trio of goals.

Bellingham is one of the most sought after talents in European football.

The Three Lions reached the last eight in consecutive World Cup tournaments for the first time in seven years, thanks to his outstanding contribution.

He was the first teenager to assist in a World Cup knockout stage game since 1966 as he set up Jordan Henderson's opening goal.

That's for any nation, because that's as far back as Opta's data can go.

Henderson didn't speak very highly of Bellingham. He said he couldn't keep saying nice things about him because they were talking about a one-off.

We need to allow him to play football, but he is amazing.

He is the youngest player to assist in a World Cup game for England since 1966.

In the first half, Bellingham led the way on a number of metrics, including the most tackles won, the most possession won and the most fouls won.

In the final third, he had a 100% passing accuracy and an overall pass completion of 98%.

That includes the assist for England's first goal and the pass to Foden that led to Harry Kane's second goal.

"He's 19 years of age, and he spoke at half-time," Richards said. It's amazing to put in a performance of that magnitude.

When the game was dull and England needed someone to grab the game by the scruff of the neck, Bellingham was there.

He was up against a fast and strong team. It was amazing.

His decision making as well. At a young age, he has that part of his game. It's amazing.

"Jude Bellingham, I don't know what he's having for breakfast but he is everywhere," said Matt Upson, who played for the Three Lions. He is bouncing all over the field.

"Running from the middle is exactly what you need from amidfielder when the game is tight," Roy said. It's brilliant.

When a meeting with France on Saturday was all but assured, Bellingham was replaced with 15 minutes remaining, having made the most dribbles (four), and won the most tackles (nine) among match-leading actions.

The England team achieved a third successive clean sheet, their best run in a World Cup since 1982, while their 12 goals in four matches in the tournament is their most at a single major tournament.

Captain Harry Kane said that Jude is a great player. He is a good person, mature for his age, and has great leadership skills.

"I don't think we could have predicted how quickly Bellingham could grow up," said the former England manager. The last five months have seen that go to another level.

We wanted to invest in young players because we thought they would be special in the future. At times, they are not going to be perfect but at the end of the day, you get these performances.

'Birmingham were right to retire his shirt' - your views
