The quarterback struggled against his former team.

After returning from an 11-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy by committing sexual assault, he failed to lead the Cleveland Browns on a touchdown drive.

The Browns scored three non-offensive touchdown in a game for the first time in 33 years, as they defeated the worst team in the league.

He played in his first regular-season game in 700 days. He threw an intercept in the end zone that prevented Cleveland from scoring a touchdown.

The game was played in a half-empty stadium, but that didn't deter the crowd from booing the quarterback.

They're supposed to applaud. They're supposed to boo since I'm a Cleveland Brown.

"Obviously you're missing a lot of time, Kevin," the coach said of his player. You have to return to it. The first one needs to be out of the way. I'm aware of what the child is capable of.

The Texans received three first-round draft picks as part of the trade. The richest contract in the history of the league was signed by the Cleveland Indians.

He wanted a trade from the Texans after 2020. More than two dozen women accused him of sexual assault during massage sessions before he sat out the entire season.

Tony Buzbee said he would be at the game with a few of the women.

The civil lawsuits against him were settled over the summer. There are two lawsuits against him that are still pending. Two other women didn't file lawsuits against him.

There wasn't criminal charges against him. People haven't been interested in hearing his side of the story because he's denied any wrongdoing.

He had to pay a $5 million fine and participate in a treatment program as part of the settlement between the league and the players association.

On Thursday, speaking for the first time since August, he refused to answer any non- football questions.

After the game, he was asked if he had any remorse for the actions the league described as "predatory" and "egregious." The questions were not answered once again.

We've answered that before. They don't want me to talk about that. It was difficult. The suspension was not easy to take. At the same time, I'm trying to be the best football player I can be.

I was happy to be back on the field. Everything I was asked to do, I did. I did everything that was asked of me. I was able to participate in the game today.

He took a break during his warm-up to sign autographs for fans. He posed for pictures with fans.

Sarah Flores, a Houston season-ticket holder who had her red Texans jersey signed by the quarterback, believed that he was innocent of the accusations.

She said that someone as successful as he is wouldn't jeopardize his career.

Outside the stadium in the parking lot, a tailgate set up a fake massage table with a sign that said "complimentary unlicensed massages." I'm now serving four.

There was a fan wearing an orange shirt with "Free Watkins" on the front and "All he wanted was a happy ending" on the back The fan led a chant of "Here we go Brownies" as he walked up to the stadium.

A Texans fan held up a sign that said "I would rather be 1-9-1 than have DeshaunWatson as my quarterback."

Stewart Mathieson, a Houston fan from Scotland who bought sideline passes for the game, used his Texans jersey to make a statement. The front of the jersey had a message on it.

"Some of my friends in Scotland have stopped supporting the team because ofWatson," said Mathieson, who flew in for the game with his nephew. I don't know if I'll boo him. I'll boo him.
