Bold coyote grabs toddler outside California home — then dad steps in, video shows

A father in California was able to save his daughter from being dragged away by a coyote by reacting quickly.

He told KTLA that his daughter was playing on the sidewalk after she got home from school.

The girl had scratches to her legs and was given a vaccine for the disease.

Wildlife officials will try to get a sample of the girl's clothing to identify the animal.

Patrick Foy, a California Department of Fish and Wildlife captain, told the Los Angeles Times that a coyote has been a problem on the street for weeks.

There were previous reports about the coyote potentially threatening pets.

There have been seven coyote attacks against humans this year. The coyote that attacked the toddler will be put down.
