BALTIMORE -- Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been ruled out for the second half of Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury as the Baltimore Ravens look to avoid getting upset for a second week in a row.

Jackson was hurt on the last play of the first quarter when he was hit from behind by a Broncos player and fell awkwardly. After being evaluated in the medical tent, Jackson walked without a limp to the locker room with the medical staff at the start of the second quarter.

Jackson has not missed a snap since he injured his ankle in the 14th week of last season. The Ravens missed the playoffs after losing their last five games with Jackson out.

Jackson led Baltimore to a 7-4 record and the top spot in the division before he left on Sunday.

Jackson left after a difficult start to the game. The Broncos pressured him on five of his six dropbacks in the first quarter. Jackson has faced high pressure rates in his five-year career.

The Broncos led 6-3 at the half. Baltimore lost to Jacksonville by a score of 28-27.

Tyler Huntley, who is filling in for Jackson, is a starter in three of his four years.

Jackson has been injured. He missed one practice two weeks ago with a hip injury and was limited for one practice last week with a quad injury. Jackson has missed only four games in his career due to injuries.

Jackson is in his fifth year and is not under contract for next year.

The Baltimore offense has been hampered by injuries. Running back J.K. Dobbins is on injured reserve and the top wide receiver is out for the season with afoot injury.
