Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's prime minister-designate, hopes that Donald Trump will condemn antisemitism after his dinner with white supremacists.

The backlash from Trump's own party followed his dinner with Ye, the rapper formerly known as West who has made anti-semitic threats.

On Sunday's "Meet the Press" on NBC News, host Chuck Todd asked Netanyahu about his "unique relationship" with the former president.

He's been flirting with fringe characters that preach white supremacy and anti-Semitic behavior. He does not condemn it. He hasn't denounced West at all. Todd said that he hasn't yet denounced being with a white supremacist. Do you think he has this problem?

"On this matter, I think it's not simply unacceptable, it's just wrong." "I hope he sees his way to staying out of it and condemning it," Netanyahu said after listing the "great things" he believed Trump did for Israel while in office.

The Tree of Life Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh that left eleven dead was cited by Todd as an example of how Trump's behavior is inspiring antisemitism.

You would like to praise him for what he did for you. Todd asked if anything good Trump did for Israel was wiped out by his rhetoric.

Netanyahu thinks that he probably understands that it crosses a line if it continues.

Todd said that it was more critical of some Congressional Democrats who are critical of the Israeli government than it is of Donald Netanyahu.

Does that mean that they are helping Israel? If they're helping Israel, that's what they need to do first. "Todd, what do you think?"

"Sorry, Chuck, I just nullified that argument on this very program and on previous programs when I came out very strongly against that meeting with those anti-Semitic rants, which in the case of at least one of the participants seemed to be something that is, how shall I say Either way, they're bad. You do not exonerate them. It is wrong for someone to say it. You don't like Hitler.
