You wouldn't expect a trailer with zombies and a song from 1985 to make you cry, but the trailer for The Last of Us does just that.
The Last of Us takes place in a future where the world has been ravaged by a parasites and people become clickers. Many people have survived the apocalypse but there is no cure. The smuggler is tasked with carrying a precious cargo west. Is that the cargo? The key to saving the world may be found in a headstrong teenager namedEllie.
The show's source material is given a nod in the preview. The two people who provided the motion capture for the video game are quick to show up. Baker may be playing a henchman for David while Johnson may be playing Anna. That song plays throughout most of the trailer. The Last of Us: Part II had a devastating effect on that song. The Last of Us might make us cry like the game did. All signs point to yes based on this trailer.
The Last of Us will premiere on January 15th.
