The case for the Alabama to be selected for the College Football Playoff is being made by the coach.

On the College Football Show, Saban talked about how Young's shoulder injury limited him earlier in the season, and how he was able to play again. Over the last three weeks of the season, the team has played well and is currently sitting at third place.

The Alabama head coach said the committee needs to ask how they are playing at the moment.

The Alabama coach made a similar comment after the Iron Bowl victory.

I know what a resilient football team this is. We have lost two games to top 10 teams, both on the last play of the game. We could have easily won both of them. We will get a chance to play in the playoffs because we are a good football team.

Alabama lost to 7th and 14th ranked Tennessee and LSU. They lost to Tennessee on a last-second field goal and to LSU on a two-point conversion.

Georgia, Michigan, USC, and Ohio State are the other schools in the top six.

USC's loss to Utah in the Pacific-12 Championship Game and TCU's loss to Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship Game opened the door for a two-loss team like Alabama to be selected for the College Football Playoff.

Alabama would be the first two-loss team to be picked for the playoffs. Alabama has not been in theCFP since 2020.

On Sunday, the committee will make its picks. Alabama will play in a non-playoff bowl if they are not selected.
