After being activated from the non- football injury list on Saturday, Detroit Lions receiver Jameson Williams is set to make his NFL debut on Sunday.
Williams, the 12th overall pick in the 2022 draft, reported to practice for the first time ahead of the Thanksgiving game after suffering a tornACL at Alabama in January. He took part in his first week of action before the team made a decision on his availability.
I'm getting back on my feet. Williams said that he had been running around for a while. I'm out with the team. I don't think I feel rusty.
Williams was able to stay close to the team during his recovery. He says he's close to being back to normal.
Right now, I'm running really fast. Williams said he felt fast. I'm happy.
Throughout his recovery, the Lions organization was patient. He wasn't rushed back on the field by Dan Campbell and the staff.
Williams ran the passing tree routes on his first day of practice.
It was very smooth and quick. It was good in and out of breaks. It was really nice to see him. He was happy to be back. He held back his smirk.
He was allowed to enter drills this week with some individual one-on-one work and scout team reps. He said he looked better.
It was all about getting his legs under him.
The first thing that caught the attention of the Lions was his speed.
Once he gets in between the white lines, his demeanor is all about football. When we drafted him, we thought we were getting what we paid for. The guy is a big fan of the game, and you can see that in his behavior.
Through constant communication and practice reps, he has been working to get him acclimatized to the offense as soon as possible. His teammates are looking forward to seeing what he can do.
"I think Brandin Cooks is the fastest guy I've played with, and it's a different type of speed, and again, I haven't seen him play in a real game, but he's longer." He is a stride man. He has long hair. He has a large wingspan.
He said that Brin was more of a burner and that he could extend on guys. He can catch things away from his body. As a quarterback, you want him to be on the field as soon as possible.
