Gingrich warned that the Republican Party should stopunderestimating President Joe Biden, who has been able to score major legislative victories despite Democrats holding narrow majority in both chambers of congress.
Gingrich said that the GOP's opposition to Biden has made the party less successful.
He wrote on his website that they disliked Biden so much that they focused on his speaking difficulties and other personal flaws.
Gingrich was the speaker of the US House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999.
"Like almost all conservatives and Republicans, I dislike his policies," he said. America is being weakened and strengthened by them. Like most Americans, I oppose the woke policies which are threatening to destroy American culture. Conservatives are hostile to the Biden administration on our terms, which makes it hard to see how effective Biden has been.
The Democrats retained their majority in the Senate and were able to curtail losses in the House in the mid-term elections.
In 1994, under Gingrich's watch, the GOP took back control of the House after 40 years in the minority, and also took control of the Senate for the first time since 1987.
