The Albert Einstein hospital said in a statement that the health condition of the Brazilian football legend has not deteriorated over the past 24 hours.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento was admitted to the Hospital Israelite Albert Einstein on Tuesday for a re-examination of his cancer treatment. His health condition is stable and he is receiving treatment. The statement said that his condition has not changed in the last 24 hours.

The man is at the hospital.

"My friends, I want to keep everyone calm and positive," said a message on the hospital update that was posted on the social networking site. I follow my treatment and am strong. I would like to express my gratitude to the entire medical and nursing team.

Every message of love I receive from you all over the world keeps me full of energy. Brazil will be in the World Cup as well.

Messages of support have been pouring in for the three-time World Cup winner, who is undergoing cancer treatment.

Kely Nascimento posted pictures of her father with flags and banners from fans in Brazil on her social media account.

There were messages in support of the football great displayed in the buildings.

The Albert Einstein hospital said on Friday that they are treating a patient with antibiotics at the same time that they are fighting cancer.

There was a colon tumor removed.

The hospital and his family didn't say if the cancer had spread to other parts of his body.

According to the newspaper, doctors had decided to put him on a life support machine because his cancer treatment was not working.

The AP couldn't confirm that.

"Generalized swelling'' was the reason that Pele was taken to the hospital, according to a report from Brazil.

The team's all-time leading scorer is Pele, who scored 77 goals in 92 matches.
