Popovich will be out for the next two games after having a minor medical procedure.

Popovich won't be in the lineup for Friday and Sunday's games. He'll be back when the Spurs play the Astros on Thursday.

Over the next two games, Brown is going to take Popovich's place. He was the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers for two years before being replaced by Doc Rivers.

Popovich missed the Los Angeles Lakers game with an illness. Brown took over as a coach during that game.

The Spurs are currently in 14th place in the Western Conference with a 6-16 record. The franchise has not made the playoffs in each of the last three seasons.

Two of San Antonio's best players are Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell, and they will likely want to build around them in the future.

Popovich has been the head coach for a long time. In 27 seasons at the helm, he has led the Spurs to 1,350 victories and five NBA titles.
