The man told ABC that he was in the water with no boat. The cruise left New Orleans and traveled through the Gulf of Mexico to Cozumel. He described how he trod water, fought for his life, and encountered other sea creatures.
I saw it when it came up on me quickly. "I don't believe it's a shark." I kicked it with the other leg after it bumped one of my legs. I didn't know what it was, but I saw a fin.
The flavor in my mouth was different than saltwater. I didn't accept that this is the end of my life.

Miller White said it was frightening because so many people were talking. We first thought it was a child, then realized it was an adult.
She said that they heard a name being called over the loudspeaker.
According to White, the crew announced during Thanksgiving dinner that the boat was going to search and rescue.
White was very nervous and scared when they found out someone had gone over the edge. We were so far out that we didn't have cell service, so we didn't know what would happen.
Miller White said that the news of the rescue was started by the public.
Miller White said that he got service on his phone and from his family that the Coast Guard had saved him. I'm grateful and thankful to God that he is alive, but I don't think they were sympathetic to the other people on that boat for all that was happening.
Questions about Miller White's experience were not responded to by carnival.
