According to sources familiar with the deal, the Brewers will get second baseman Kolten Wong and Seattle will get outfielder Jesse Winker in exchange for the two players.
The 32-year-old Wong is Seattle's second trade acquisition of the winter after acquiring outfielder Teoscar Hernndez. Wong, a two-time Gold Glove winner, had a career-best 15 home runs for the Brewers. Milwaukee picked up a $10 million option on him in the fall.
The Brewers will receive two young men in exchange. The centerpiece of the deal was the acquisition of Winker. He underwent left knee surgery after the season and struggled to find a power stroke. He will make millions of dollars in the years to come.
The Seattle dealt for Toro at the trade deadline in 2021. In 2022, he played mostly at second and third base, hitting.185/.239/.324, after losing his third- base job. He is in the beginning of the process.
