Sanna Marin said that Europe is too dependent on the US for its security.

Europe isn't strong enough at the moment. Marin said that we would be in trouble without the US.

Marin said that the United States has given a lot of weapons, a lot of financial aid, and a lot of humanitarian aid. When it comes to European defence, we need to build those capabilities.

Since the start of the Russian invasion in February, the US has given Ukraine more security assistance than any other country.

The first major conflict in Europe since World War II has prompted more urgent discussions on European security and the continent's dependence on the US. Two countries that have historically been neutral or military non-aligned have joined NATO.

The EU foreign policy chief questioned how the US would handle the war in Ukraine if Donald Trump were in office.

NATO allies were often criticized by Trump for their lower levels of defense spending compared to the US. The first impeachment of the former president was related to his dealings with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was pressured to launch an investigation into Biden.

Europe needs to take more steps to make sure it is not dependent on Washington.

If Biden had been the president, what would have happened? The United States was involved in the war in Ukraine. In a different situation, what would we have done? We have to ask ourselves some questions. The answer is clear, we need to shoulder more responsibility of our own. We have to do a better job of securing security.
