Apple has a new feature that could help reduce your scrolling if you use it.

Users who have installed the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system on their phone now only need to move their finger upwards to see their notifications.

Users were used to seeing all notifications in the pull down Notification Center. Users needed to learn the collapsed stack view for the Lock Screen in order to use the Notification Center.

It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's possible to miss something if you want to.

I missed some notifications on my phone that may have first appeared on my Apple watch, but either my hoodie sleeve covered them or I just didn't have enough attention span to notice them. If the Apple watch thinks I saw it, it would no longer be a new notification on the lock screen or Notification Center.

The Lock Screen behavior is still the same, which could potentially use this change more than just Notification Center. When the final version ofiOS 16.2 comes out, this doesn't necessarily mean that this feature will stay in place.

It is still a welcome adjustment that is in line with other slight changes from the previousiOS 16.2. The Lock Screen was given more control to the owners of the 14 Pro, so they could hide the wallpaper and leave a clean black screen, similar to what many other devices have been doing for years.
