The all-screen design of the iMac has been achieved by technicians in China.
Some of the engineering behind the striking iMac modification on Chinese video sharing website Bilibili was revealed in a video posted by Io Technology. After it was reposted by users like DuanRui, it got a lot of attention on the social networking site.
The iMac G4 was an inspiration for the modification.
The iMac was disassembled and the display'schin area was cut off, with the edges being the same shape as the top. A new rear casing with an enlarged area for the logic board and ports was created digitally and 3D printed for testing before being made. The iMac's components were put into the new housing with some added measures to mitigate increased thermal constraints.
A backlit Apple logo made out of laser cutacrylic was added to the new MacBook models. Io Technology created a Space Gray version of the iMac.
The iMac was rumored to have an all-screen design before the iMac was announced. Some people criticized the design of the device when it was announced.
