A new court filing shows that Alex Jones filed for personal bankruptcy protection on Friday, a day after a Connecticut jury ordered him to pay over a billion dollars to the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting victims.

The Southern District of Texas is where Jones filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11.

The notorious conspiracy theorist estimates his assets to be between $1 million and $10 million.

He thinks he has between 50 and 99 debts.

The father of the 6-year-old girl who was killed that day was the largestUnsecured creditor. The jury awarded $120 million in damages to the man who was accused of being a part of a conspiracy to stage the shooting.

A jury in Connecticut ordered Jones to pay $1 billion in damages. In the month after, the judge added $473 million to the bill.

Free Speech Systems Inc. filed for Chapter 11 protection. The mother of a child murdered at Sandy Hook was awarded $50 million by a Texas jury.

People who thought the Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax harassed the Sandy Hook victims until this year, according to relatives.
