'American Idol' David Archuleta Says Fans Left Show After He Talked Being Queer

David Archuleta says dozens of fans walked out of a recent show of his after he spoke about being queer.

After wrapping up his Christmas tour in Utah, Archuleta flew to Los Angeles, where he spoke to fans about his recent journey.

He shared an email from the manager of the venue where he was performing that expressed their disappointment over his decision to talk about his sexuality.

I don't believe that that concert was a setting for that to happen. I am going to deal with some very upset patrons today. I hope the remaining concerts don't allow that and allow them to have a great Christmas experience.

David said that he was disappointed to see some fans leave, but that will not stop him from sharing his experience, because he knows the message could save lives.

Archuleta said he had to keep his sexuality a secret when he was a Mormon. David contemplated suicide at one point.

David tells us he's taken a step back from his religion to regroup and determine what he wants, but still has fans and people from the LGBTQIA+ community urging him to share his story, one they believe can reach new ears and help even more people.
