The semi delivery event is fortes.

Musk is busy. Just hours after giving an update on his Neuralink venture, the billionaireentrepreneur drove the first Semi production vehicle to a delivery event at the Nevada Gigafactory.

The all-electric Semi was unveiled five years ago, but production dates slipped and the launch date was later than it should have been.

More firms are expected to get the vehicle once production ramps up. As many as 50,000 Semis are expected to roll off the line in the year 2024, according to Musk.

The new Semi truck was the subject of a bunch of short videos by the company.

A 500-mile-range model is priced at $180,000 and a 300-mile-range model is $150,000. All-electric Semis are in the process of being brought to the market by a bunch of rival automakers, though the most expensive model seems to have the better range.

When loaded with its 80,000-pound maximum gross vehicle weight, the Semi can hit 60 mph in 20 seconds. It's low per-mile energy costs are due to the four independent motor design.

According to the website, charging with electricity is 2.5 times cheaper per mile than using diesel. Fuel savings can be as high as $200,000 within the first three years of ownership.

The large-size truck causes 20% of vehicle emissions, and over a third of the particulate emissions, according to Musk, who spoke at the event.

This is a huge impact for the health of the people in the city.

If you want the most bad-ass rig on the road, this is it, Musk said while standing beside him.
