The Minnesota Vikings Cornerback denied Thursday that he has a "beef" with Kyler Murray, saying he meant no disrespect by his recent comments and has reached out to the ArizonaCardinals quarterback in hopes of talking through their back-and-forth of the past week.
He is looking forward to helping Murray grow as a player.
Kyler Murray don't care about nobody but Kyler Murray, that's what he said on his "All Things Covered" radio show. Murray said the characterization was not true. If he wanted to be a mentor, he said, he should call him.
On Thursday, he said he had no beef with Kyler Murray. He denied that he had disrespected Murray and said his comments were based on body language.
When you're a franchise quarterback, you have to carry yourself a certain way, that's what I meant by my comment. What kind of energy do you think feeds off to your teammates?
I said that about Kyler. He cares about himself because he doesn't want the team to lose. How do you feel about the defense when you make a bad throw and come off the field? How can we win this game if our starting quarterback does not have any fire? Kyler cares about Kyler. I didn't mean anything disrespectful. I might not be his mentor, but I can help him become a better football player.
Before this week, he didn't have Murray's number, but he did get one from a teammate. He didn't get a reply from Murray by Thursday.
"I'm looking forward to talking to him because I see a lot of talent in him." Those mannerisms are frightening. Most people are afraid to tell him something like that. It is a fact. Everyone is aware of it. You watch it when they're on TV. Kyler Murray is making a face. He called out the offensive scheme. I don't think I said that. He did, that's right.
