The Federal Communications Commission gave the go-ahead for the company to launch up to 7,500 next- generation satellites in its Starlink internet network.

The FCC wrote in the order that it would allow the deployment of Gen 2 Starlink by the company.

The FCC placed some conditions on the company's plan to deploy the satellites after it was not granted a full application. The decision on the application was put off.

The FCC imposed a limit on the number of satellites in the second generation of the Starlink constellation to address concerns about space safety.

NASA and the National Science Foundation are required to coordinate with other satellite operators.

The decision by the FCC is important to the expansion of the satellite network by the company.

About 3,500 first- generation Starlink satellites have been launched by the company. As of June, the service had half a million subscribers. Starlink sells services to residential, business, RV, maritime and aviation customers.
