According to sources, Pelé was diagnosed with bronchopneumonia after new tests on Thursday.

Kely Nascimento said that her father was taken to the hospital to regulate the medication in his fight against a colon tumor. There was no emergency regarding her father's health, she said.

Pel had been admitted to Albert Einstein Hospital with "generalised swelling" and was undergoing several tests for more in-depth assessment of his health issues, according to a report.

There was a lot of alarm in the media about my father's health. The man is in the hospital. There is no dire prediction. I'm going to be there for New Years and will post some pictures.

The great was in and out of the hospital on a regular basis after having a tumor removed from his colon.

Pel is being treated for the bronchopneumonia, according to a source.

The source said the medical staff reported the condition of anasarca, generalized edema and decompensated heart failure.

According to a statement from Albert Einstein Hospital, Edson Arantes do Nascimento was hospitalized on Wednesday for a re evaluation of the treatment for a colon tumor.

There was no need for the patient to be admitted to the intensive care unit after the evaluation. The former player is in good health.

Pelé's medical staff was concerned that his treatment wasn't having the expected results because he was having Cardiac issues.

Pelé has suffered from a number of health issues in recent years, including a hip surgery that left him with recurring pain and difficulty walking.
