The Green Bay Packers quarterback doesn't plan on changing his game plan for the rest of the season despite his rib injury.

If they're not in the playoffs.

Rodgers knows that a conversation will most likely be had about his status for the rest of the season when the Packers are 4-7 and on the verge of elimination.

Jordan Love is the third-year backup quarterback who hasn't played a lot of football in his career. After Rodgers was injured in the game against the Eagles, he showed some promise.

"Look, I'd love to finish the season out, but I understand this is a business and there's a lot of us older guys who play a decent amount and they might want to see some younger guys play." Hopefully, we don't have to talk about it. If that happens, I'll approach it with an open mind and no bitterness. I want to win out and we don't have to talk about it. If we don't we can have that conversation.

It was Rodgers who said he would understand that the team would have to think about it.

The last time Rodgers didn't finish out a season was when the Packers were out of the playoffs. After the Packers were eliminated from the playoffs with two games to go, Rodgers went back to injured reserve. If they were still in the race, Rodgers would have continued playing.

"That's an assumption that this place won't look any different next year," Rodgers said when asked if that would be a better course of action. That is part of the discussion.

Rodgers has a guaranteed amount of money if he plays in 2023, but he hasn't said if he's going to. Rodgers didn't practice Wednesday but said he felt better than he did when he left the game. If the improvement continues, he will be able to practice on Thursday or Friday.

He wouldn't say if he's broken ribs or an injury to the rib cage, but he did hint that it could be the same as what Herbert had earlier in the year.

Rodgers said it was possible when Herbert's injury was mentioned.

Rodgers will probably wear rib protection for the first time in his career.

He said he would protect it a bit more. I don't wear rib pads anymore. I don't know if I want to start now, but I will probably have something to cover it up.
