The McRib has been on the McDonald's menu for 40 years, and this fall will be the last time it will be on the menu.
Chris Kempczinski, the CEO of Mcdonald's, released a video review of his mother's favorite Mcdonald's menu item.
In 1982 it was the national debut. A hoagie-style bun is used for the sandwich, which is made with seasoned pork and barbecue sauce.
He said in a video that his taste has sentimental value. The McRib's signature part is the sauciness. It's hard to eat McRib without making a mess of yourself, but it's worth it.
Kempczinski took a two-handed bite of the McRib after getting his soda and red box.
He said that the hoagie-style sandwich was so good. It's so sexy. Definitely in the hall of fame. I am a huge fan of the GO AT. The McRib is a favorite of mine. I hope it returns. The acronym for "greatest of all time" is GO AT.
Is it a goodbye tour? McDonald's has taken the McRib away and brought it back many times over the years. Fans of the sandwich have created a website to report on the mysteries of the sandwich.
The sandwich was back on the menu for a short time. "This could be your last chance to try it," Mcdonald's said at the time.
When asked if the McRib would stay on the menu this year, Mcdonald's did not reply immediately.
Kempczinski said that like the GOATs of Michael Jordan, Tom Brady and others, you're never sure if they're retired or not.
