California naturopath and homeopath Juli Mazi will be sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for lying to the government and selling fake vaccine.

It was a scheme that netted her thousands of dollars in the early phases of the pandemic before also earning her the first federal criminal fraud prosecution related to bogus COVID-19 vaccination and vaccination records.

Mazi faced a maximum sentence of 25 years after pleading guilty to the charges.

The guilty plea was announced by the Justice Department's Criminal Division.

Mazi tried to withdraw from her plea agreement after she fired her lawyers.

She challenged the legal basis of the charges, which included one count of wire fraud and one count of false statements.

Bogus immunity

According to the Register, Mazi said there were no laws broken. Can you tell me the laws that allow me to ignore the procedures that a doctor is licensed to perform?

The judge noted that she did not contest any facts.

Mazi argued that she is immune to legal action because she is a Native American.

Federal prosecutors argued that Mazi made a lot of money by misrepresenting that they would offer "lifelong immunity" from COVID-19. She sold a lot of fake immunizations. She gave the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to customers. The false claim was made that children had been immunized to meet school requirements.

Financial records obtained by federal investigators show that Mazi made over $221,000 from 1,242 transactions. Most transactions didn't indicate what they were for, but 25 of them were for COVID treatments and 34 of them were for homeopathy.

Mazi was sentenced to 33 months in prison by the judge. She was told to turn herself in to the Bureau of Prisons.
