The team said Kris Letang would be out indefinitely after he had a stroke.

The team's medical staff took Letang to the hospital after he reported his symptoms, according to the statement. The six-time All-Star was not experiencing any long-term effects and is not thought to be career threatening.

Letang said that he knows his body well enough to recognize when something isn't right. I am hopeful that it can raise awareness. I want my teammates, family and fans to know that I'm okay. I think I will be on the ice soon.

Letang will be undergoing tests this week There will be no updates until the tests are done and a plan is in place.

The test results were shocking but we are thankful Kris is doing well.

Letang missed more than two months of the season after suffering a stroke in the previous year. Letang was found to have a small hole in his heart.

He leads the team with 23:54 in ice time per game and has one goal and 11 assists.
