We looked at what every nation needed to do to get out of their group and keep the dream alive.

Brazil, France, Portugal, Netherlands, England, United States, Australia are qualified.

Canada, Iran, Wales, and Tunisia were eliminated on July 16.

The Netherlands booked their place in the knockout stages of the World Cup with a 2-0 win over the hosts of the tournament. They will play the US on Saturday.

A first-half penalty and a second-half goal by captain Kalidou Koulibaly helped propel Senegal to a place in the knockout stages of the World Cup. They will play England on Sunday.

Two goals from Marcus Rashford and a further by Phil Foden helped England secure a dominating win over Wales and top spot in the group.

Saudi Arabia is guaranteed to qualify if Poland-Argentina draw. Top spot will be decided if Saudi Arabia and Argentina win.

They are certain of qualification if Argentina lose.

Poland would have to lose by at least three goals to qualify for the playoffs if Saudi Arabia drew and Poland lost.

Saudi Arabia can't qualify if either game is draws or they lose to Mexico.

If Mexico beats Saudi Arabia by four or more goals, it will qualify.

Mexico will finish second if Poland wins.

Mexico would have to overturn a four goal deficit if they won and Poland lost.

Mexico will need to win by at least three goals if Poland-Argentina is a draw.

Tunisia claimed a famous victory over a France team made up mostly of back-up players but it wasn't enough to advance. France is the group's leader.

Australia reached the World Cup round of 16 for the first time since 2006 after Mathew Leckie scored the only goal of the game.
