A foul was called on Virginia forward Kadin Shedrick after Hunter Dickinson elbowed him in the face.

The questionable call gave Dickinson two free throws with one minute, 41 seconds remaining, and while he made one of them, the Cavaliers came from behind to win 70-68.

Dickinson was excellent in defeat, finishing with a game-high 23 points on 9-of 17 shooting, plus seven rebound, but all that mattered was the belief that he was a dirty player after the elbow on Shedrick.

I didn't know the name Hunter Dickinson until tonight. Dirtiest player in college basketball. Real Grayson Allen type.

Although Michigan is unranked this season, Tuesday marked a huge challenge for a Virginia team that has already beaten ranked teams.

Tuesday's win was perhaps the most impressive one yet, as they weathered the storm from a top player like Dickinson and beat a talented Michigan team on the road.

The top team in the nation when the next set of rankings comes out will be the 3rd-ranked Virginia.

The hero for Virginia against Michigan was the guard, who hit the go-ahead jump shot with 43 seconds left, while the other two put it away at the free throw line.

Dickinson is the unquestioned star and go-to guy for Michigan, whereas Virginia thrives thanks to its depth and production.

None of the five players who scored in double figures finished with more than 18 points.

The type of team basketball the Virginia players used to take down the Michigan team in a hostile environment is missing this year.
